Joona Benjamin
Joona Benjamin Koskela is a sound designer and a music producer from Helsinki, Finland.
A brief biography:
Originally with a background as a drummer Joona has played drums with i.e. such bands as Home Junior (11 years since 2004) and Kauniit & Uhkarohkeat (4 years since 2014). The drumming background has developed him into an extremely rhythmic musician and a producer.
Joona first began experimenting with music production software already during junior high school. These experiments gradually developed into a serious hobby and between 2011-2013 while Home Junior was taking a brake Joona began taking music production seriously and started making instrumental electronic dance music and DJing. By many coincidences in 2013 he got a chance to make music for example for the Marketing Agency Expression and the official GoPro action camera import and wholesale company in Finland. Between 2013 and 2015 he made approx. 5 original songs per month to be used in the official GoPro Finland marketing videos.
Since 2014 Joona has focus mainly on songwriting and music production (pop, hiphop, RnB, indie etc.) for Finnish pop artists but still continues to do commercial sound design and music production work (mainly audio logos, jingles and music aimed to be used in variety of video content and commercials).
